Julia Whitam has been the Director of Elementary Religious Education
for both the parish and school since 2001. However she has been
employed as a homeroom teacher since 1972. She has taught both sixth
and fifth grade homerooms at Corpus Christi. Her current responsibilities
are teaching religion to 5th and 7th graders, planning and directing
school liturgies, working with volunteer teachers in the Religious
Education program on Mondays, and planning and preparing students
and parents for reception of First Reconciliation and First Holy
Communion.
With the help of another teacher, Julia Whitam started a Drama
Workshop at Corpus Christi which met on Friday afternoons and continued
for 16 years. Julia loves writing and helping students to be creative.
Helping the students to grow in their faith and love of God is a
blessing in her life. She feels truly blessed by the spiritual opportunities
and outreach activities provided at Corpus Christi Parish and School.
