Janella, our Youth Minister and Confirmation Coordinator,
came to Corpus Christi Parish in 2006 after working as Youth Ministry
coordinator at her home parish, Immaculate Heart of Mary Church
in Hollywood. For over three years, she organized all aspects of
parish life for all high school teens. Janel provided training and
guidance to leaders and volunteers, coordinated weekly youth liturgies,
organized retreats, gospel dramatization, participated in Archdiocesan
events such as Youth Day, Magic Mountain, Beach Day and advocated
the presence of the youth to the greater community. Additionally,
she collaborated with the parish school by working with the 8th
graders as they prepare for Youth Ministry.
She graduated from Holy Family Girls High School
in Glendale where she was President of the Campus Ministry. Janel
received her Undergraduate Degree from California State University
Northridge with a major in Communications Studies. She is in the
process of completing the National Certificate Program for Youth
Ministry and has a Certificate in Confirmation Catechist Specialization.
