Fr. Dominic Kennedy Arputham

 

Fr. Dominic Kennedy Arputham was born in a very traditional Catholic family in Tamil Nadu, southern India in 1970. He is one of four brothers, two of whom are priests.

He joined the diocesan seminary in India in 1990, and was ordained in 1998. he then worked in the Diocese in various capacities including an Associate Pastor and an Assistant principal.

His Regional Bishop then sent him to work for the Regional Commission for Social Communications as the Editor of the Catholic weekly magazine in Tamil Nadu and for four years at Madras where

St. Thomas the Apostle was martyred and buried. He has published five books and five devotional music albums in his mother tongue.

The Catholic Bishop's Conference of India then sent him to the United States to do his Masters and Doctorate in professional journalism at UCLA, with the view of his starting a Catholic Daily in India.

Fr. Dominic has said, "I completely trust in the Lord for his guidance in my studies and my mission at Corpus Christi Parish under the able guidance of Monsignor Kidney.
