Ministers
of the Eucharist
Jesus invites us into communion with Him, and this union is our
most complete union with Christ. Through his body and blood, we
become members of the larger Body of Christ, our Catholic Community.
Even our Parish is named for the Body and Blood fo Christ: Corpus
Christi !
The privilege of distributing Holy Communion at the Mass is the
Eucharistic Ministers job. After a training about the theology of
Eucharist and the proper reverence and manner for distribution,
a Eucharistic Minister joins the Presider in distributing Holy Communion
to the faithful at Sunday Mass. Reverence requires that we recognize
Christ in the bread and wine. Reverence also requires that we recognize
Christ in all those who eat and drink with us. It is the same Christ
in both forms.
Truly it is a privilege to be so involved with the Blessed Sacrament!
